Terms of use
These are the ground rules for using GRATUS. They are short on purpose. By using GRATUS you agree to them.
What GRATUS is
GRATUS is an app that helps you feel calm, picture what you want to create, and take one small step towards it, with gratitude along the way. It includes an AI guide called the Oracle, guided meditations (breathing, body scan, morning and evening), and a test group where invited people can help each other. It is a test version and is still being built.
Not medical or crisis help
GRATUS and the Oracle are not a doctor, therapist or crisis service. They cannot diagnose, treat or advise on any health condition.
If you are in danger, or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line straight away. The group board is not a place for emergencies.
The breathing practices are gentle, but breathing patterns with pauses are not right for everyone. If you have a breathing or heart condition, or are pregnant, ask your doctor first, and stop and return to normal breathing if you feel dizzy.
The Oracle is an AI
The Oracle is an AI, not a person. She can make mistakes and can say things that are wrong or unhelpful. Please use your own judgement, and do not rely on her for medical, legal, financial or other important decisions. The voice that guides the meditations is also AI-generated.
Using GRATUS
- You must be at least 16.
- Use GRATUS kindly and lawfully. Do not try to break it, overload it, or get around its limits or the invite word.
- You are responsible for your device and for keeping safe what is on it.
The group board
What you post is yours. By posting, you give us permission to store it and show it to the people in the test group, so the group can work.
Be kind and honest. Do not post anything that is hateful, harassing, threatening or illegal, anything private about someone else, or spam and advertising. Do not post emergencies there.
We may remove posts, and may change the invite word or end someone's access, at any time and without notice, to keep the group safe. You can report a reply with the Report button.
Points and rewards
Points and rewards are part of the experience. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and may change or stop at any time. Giving is its own reward.
Your information
How we handle your information is explained in the Privacy policy. You can delete your account and data at any time in Account & data.
Changes and availability
GRATUS is offered as a test. We may change, pause or stop any part of it, and we cannot promise it will always be available or that nothing will be lost. Because your moments live on your own device, please keep a copy using Copy my data or Save as a file.
No warranty, and limits on responsibility
GRATUS is provided as it is, without promises that it will be error-free or suit your needs. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses from using it. Nothing here limits any rights you have under the law that cannot be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Australia. GRATUS can be used from anywhere, and if you use it from another country, this does not take away any protection that the law where you live gives you and that cannot be waived.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
